Please find attached an aerial path survey showing Beltline at Commercial as well as intersections communicating to the strain pole east of the intersection.  You will notice path lines
on the diagram showing where the radio links are.  The orange lines represent the path to the water tower and the magenta lines represent a secondary repeat path from the strain pole.
 I have also attached the picture we took during our line of sight study from the location where the strain pole was installed.  You will notice that this location provided the best
line of sight to the water tower.  The hotel seen in the picture blocks direct communications to Commercial.  The tall office building on the northeast corner of Beltline and Commercial
blocks communications to intersections west and south and requires the need for the strain pole repeater. 

 

You had asked about the possibility of moving the strain pole closer to the intersection at Commercial.  There is an opportunity to move it closer (max 100’) and still maintain line
of sight to the water.  Any location greater than 100’ west causes the hotel shown in the picture to block the line of sight.  This path is shown by the dashed orange line.  

 

Staying within the 100’ would still allow you to communicate with Marsh and Target.  Something to also keep in mind is in determining the current location for the strain pole, we considered
the use of the pole for future CCTV.  Nancy had mentioned the Town’s desire to install CCTV along Beltline in the near future and tie the CCTV into the wireless traffic network.  The
current location sites on the apex of roadway curve along Beltline allowing optimal viewing angles to the west and east.
