Katie, Can you please contact Mr. Peter Jessiman @ 214-552-9572. He has spoken with Clay regarding the fire meters on Asbury Lane. He claims to be a future resident that will soon be closing on a house as does not believe he should be “punished” for the charges of the fire meter because they were built with a different building code then we have now. The old code that the houses were built under stated that there had to be two meters. The gentlemen is very upset and wants some sort of waiver that he won’t have to pay his monthly fire meter bill. I explained that there is a minimum charge for the maintenance, but he stated that he should not have to pay unless there is usage. I wasn’t sure what else to tell him as he wants to know who he can talk to next and what course of action he can take to get this done. Please let me know if I can assist in any way, Holly From: Jerry L. Lewandowski Cc: Jerry Davis; David Wilde Subject: RE: Asbury Lane Meter Question Jerry, This has been a long standing issue with the folks from Asbury Circle. We have instructed them that they began under a code that required separate meters for fire and domestic. The code has since been revised to allow for one meter. However, they began under the requirement to build two. We have told them that they must continue under that requirement. I guess they will continue to ask around town until they find someone who will let them out of that requirement. Please inform them that they are required to install two meters in accordance with the code under which they began the development. If they insist on another answer, send them over to me. If you have any additional questions, please let me know. Clay Barnett, P.E. I am sure they are trying to get out of paying for the fire service connection. What will we do with all the “extra” services if we allow this and it then becomes well-known (as it surely will, because neighbor will tell neighbor, etc.) Will finance have to come up with a billing code for combination services? Who would do the work, and what specifications do we require? David E. Wilde Town of Addison Public Works Inspector 972-450-2847 dwilde@addisontx.gov From: Jerry L.
