Lynn, I spoke with Mr. Williams at Savanna not more than 30 mins ago and I spoke with Bruce just a few moments ago about Meridian. I have informed them both that Public Works does not recommend issuing building finals for Meridian for the following reasons: 1. The brick pavers installed on the project were not approved. Additionally, the installation has failed. There is bituminous material seeping up between the pavers and many of them have chipped or cracked. We have discussed this with Dave Williams. 2. The final plat has yet to be filed. The developer has stated that he has sold two of the units. I am not sure how this could be accomplished unless through metes and bounds. 3. I have been told by several suppliers and contractors that they have posted liens on the property. Here again I am not sure the county will record the plat with liens current on the property. Additionally, if the town accepted the plat, we could be liable for the cost of the improvements associated with the development. For these reasons, I respectfully request that all building finals for the Meridian development be placed on hold until these issues are resolved. The developer has been aware of these issues since our walkthrough on November 12, 2009. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks, Clay Barnett, P.E.
