I'm pretty well booked on Tuesday, so if Monday 9 am is still an option that would be great. That would be more pleasant and disrupt less. Would it allow time? -----Original Message----- From: Ron King [mailto:RGK@freese.com] Sent: Wednesday, January 12, 2011 10:04 PM To: Nancy Cline; Clay Barnett Cc: Jessica Brown; Daniel Tremper; Ron King Subject: RE: Addison EST - Bowl Rings Nancy: We sent the renderings to Brad, and he said it looks good to him. I am available to meet any time this Friday if that would work for y'all. It will probably be next Tuesday before we have the revised sheets done. From: Ron King [mailto:RGK@freese.com] Sent: Monday, January 10, 2011 10:15 AM To: Nancy Cline; Clay Barnett Cc: Ron King; Jessica Brown; Daniel Tremper Subject: Addison EST - Bowl Rings Nancy, Clay: I have attached renderings showing what we propose for the architectural ribbing for the bowl exterior. These show it with 6" x 3/8" bars, which make the look we were going for and are consistent with how this was done on other projects. Initially we had looked at using an 8" x 8" square tube, but this was pretty bulky and would be expensive and problematic to build. We also discussed with Landmark having the stainless steel bowl alternate bid item. Their biggest concern with this is that they know they will not be able to make the SECO April 30, 2012 deadline for the wind turbines if they build a stainless steel bowl. The stainless steel bowl option would take longer to build because the panels must be smaller than carbon steel panels, so they have significantly more pieces to put together. The welding is also more complicated than carbon steel, and takes significantly longer to achieve. They feel that contractors will likely not bid on the stainless steel bowl alternative, since they have to meet the SECO deadline. With this feedback from Landmark, I would recommend not including the stainless steel bowl as an alternate bid item. Please let me know any feedback or questions you may have on these 2 items.
