If these answers in blue are OKAY – I will prepare everything and get ready to send it:

 

1.       Has there been public comment regarding the implementation of small scale wind turbines in the Community?  If so, provide report of the public’s feeling toward the City’s planned
implementation.      Although there have been numerous discussions with the city council regarding the placement of wind turbines on top of the water tower, the minutes from these meetings
are action related minutes and not narrative minutes. However, reception by the city council has been very positive and they are enthusiastic about sustainable development.

2.       Please contact the turbine manufacturer for information concerning data collected of aviary mortalities from commercial operations of the proposed turbine. If no commercial
information is available, does the company have research data or related modeling projection data?  Please see attached data sheet from turbine manufacturer regarding aviary mortalities.
 

3.       A Full Environmental Assessment may be necessary for this project.  Please see the attached Form 617.20, Full Environmental Assessment Form the City can start reviewing.  The
Town of Addison will be ready to provide a full environmental assessment if necessary.

In response to SECO's question regarding avian fatalities, we are providing the attached document. The larger point is that bird fatalities have not been an issue with any of the wind
turbine manufacturers we work with. 

 

I am including Tony Verrelli, President of Cleanfield Energy on the list. Tony we would appreciate it if you would send us a letter confirming your position or experience with the bird
kill issue. Since I will be out of the office at an installation all day Friday, I would appreciate it if you would email your letter indicating that avian fatalities have not been an
issue for the 3.5KW Cleanfield Energy VAWT. SECO needs this information before 5PM Friday, so we would appreciate it if you would send it earlier in the day, so the Town of Addison can
meet this SECO deadline.
