Nancy, Although not as bad as the pictures in the book from Landmark, you can see some form deformation and separation. There is also a little color change although it was minimal. What did strike me was the amount of bug holes. They were excessive. This can be minimized by proper vibration and bumping the forms. Obviously something that the crew that poured this pedestal was not aware of. The can be rubbed out after the tank is complete, but this is an extremely labor intensive process. If we did want to allow them to bid, we could put performance specs in the contract. If the quality of the tank does not meet or exceed the spec then they have to redo or remedy it. Of course this is hard to prove in court… I wonder what the quality of the workmanship for the inside portion of their work. Do they have any examples of where they performed an interior finish-out on the inside of the pedestal? What does the inside of the pedestal look like? I think Ron may have already disqualified them, but it is something to think about if we choose to reconsider them. Thanks, Clay Barnett, P.E. Please let us know your opinion of the quality of this tank pedestal and bowl shown. We would like to point out that this tank didn’t look good in our opinion compared to a Landmark constructed tank in the field for a number of reasons.
