The acceptable manufacturers shown in the specifications are CB&I and Landmark; however, I just received a phone call from Tim Mills with Caldwell Tanks and they want to be included
on the list.  The tank spec allows for them to submit a written statement of qualifications within 14 calendar days of the bid for consideration, and they indicated they plan to over-night
that to me.

 

The two items that Tim said they don’t meet on the specs are:

 

1.       Min. 6’ tall form system for the pedestal concrete rings.  They utilize a 4’ tall form system, and do not have the tie-throughs in the form system that Landmark and CB&I utilize.
 The tie-throughs provide a more rigid form system and prevent flexure in the forms during the pours, so you don’t end up with a wavy concrete surface and mortar seepage.

2.       They have not constructed a composite tank with a curved bowl shape, whereas Landmark and CB&I have.  They have constructed other types of tanks with curved bowls, but not composite
tanks.

 

They are currently constructing one of the composite tanks we designed, but it is the only one I’m aware they have done for us.  It has a standard bowl, and is not as high profile as
the Addison tank.

 

It may be worth taking a look at some of the tanks they have done.
