Ron, We have to determine equipment before we can provide the data. Also, we are aware of the spacing requirement for the disconnect. Have a good weekend. Regards, Matthew Wiatrek From: Ron King [mailto:RGK@freese.com] Sent: Friday, June 24, 2011 3:57 PM To: Wiatrek, Matt Cc: Ron King; John Manning; Nancy Cline; 'Clay Barnett' Subject: FW: Town Of Addison FAQ - Application Matt: This is the package of stuff that ONCOR sent the Town concerning the wind turbine interconnection to the grid, and it calls for a lot of data on the wind turbines. Do y’all have this data yet or waiting on SECO approval? Also, note that they are requiring the disconnect to be within 10’ of the meter. We may need to re-visit this. Thanks, Ron King, P.E. There are a lot of specifics about the wind turbines that they are asking. Would you mind having a look at this? Thanks, Clay Barnett, P.E. Oncor does not buy or sell energy. Also attached is Oncor’s application document. Let me know if you have any additonal questions. Sorry for the delay. Ken The Town of Addison is adding wind turbines to the top of the water tower. The plan was to use power from the grid when the turbines are not spinning and then recharge the grid when the turbines are spinning. This would avoid the added cost and maintenance associated with storing the electricity generated by the wind turbines for when it is needed. However, this is not mentioned in the agreement. Is there a way to add this condition to the agreement and does the power we expect to generate need to be documented in the Load Requirements Form? Thank you for your interest in interconnecting a distributed renewable generator (DRG) to the Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (Oncor) distribution system. *** PLEASE READ THE ATTACHED 14 Frequently Asked Questions. As you read these you will see that the information is time sensitive because of changing rules and regulations. It is recommended you periodically request updated information. *** The interconnection process starts with the completion of the Application for Interconnection. Renewable resources connected to the Oncor system are required by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) to fill out the attached form - 6.3.2 Application for Interconnection. The application requests that you create a site-specific one-line electrical diagram and a layout sketch of your facility for submittal with your Interconnection Application. A sample one-line diagram and a sample layout sketch are attached for your convenience. If your system is less than 10 kW, inverter based, and has been tested and is certified to meet the requirements of UL-1741 – Utility Interactive, a distribution system impact study will not be required. For systems larger than 10 kW, a distribution system impact study and associated system impact study fee may be required. If your system is a wind driven induction generator additional information will be requested such as the machine NEMA motor code and locked rotor current and/or additional information concerning the protection system and design of your particular system. If your equipment (any type) does not have proper certification, then a study fee will be required and additional information will be necessary. The study fee for equipment greater than 1 kW to 10 kW is generally $163.95. The study fee for 10kW to 500 kW is generally $239.60. Under certain circumstances equipment without proper certification may be subject to specific utility distribution configuration requirements which could include being the only customer served from the utility distribution transformer. Specifics requirements for interconnection will be determined after receipt and review of the Interconnection Application. Note: A listing of distributed generation pre-interconnection study fees maybe found in Oncor’s Tariff for Retail Delivery Service, under Discretionary Service Charges, DD24. (www.oncor.com/pdf/tar iffs/Tariff_for_Retail_Delivery_Service.pdf will link you to Oncor’s Tariff.) All interconnections are subject to the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) Substantive Rule § 25.211 and § 25.212. (www.puc.state.tx.us/rules/subrules/electric/index.cfm) and Oncor’s Tariff for Retail Delivery Service. After completion of the review process and procedures, Oncor will request you to sign an Interconnection Agreement. Oncor will send this Agreement to you for signatures.
