FYI, below. Still battling with Landmark on trying to charge additional for the foundation drain. Ron King, P.E. The CMR from Landmark indicates there could be a “multitude of problems” if this mitigation is not provided. Why does your response now indicate that it is just a hypothetical issue? Landmark’s CMR Item 4 says “It is important to note that this is not a warranty issue for Landmark, but rather a long term solution for the project.” Please help me understand why Landmark’s sealed design should not provide for a long term solution for the project? This statement in the CMR comes across that Landmark may be comfortable with designing the foundation of the learning center for only the 2-year warranty period, or shortly thereafter. The foundation design needs to provide a long term solution for any of the elements that it supports, including the learning center. Again, this would be at no additional cost to Addison, since the pedestal design and construction are required of Landmark by the specifications. Ron King, P.E. I have received your response for CMR #001, but the directive is unclear. Are you saying the drain system must be installed or are you saying it is up to Landmark to decide? If the latter is the intent, Landmark’s decision will be to proceed without the drain. It is important to note the CMR provided a suggested solution to a hypothetical event; it was not a solution to a known issue. Please do not hesitate to call should we need to discuss.
