Clay: Below are our comments on the revised plans sent by Bill. Please call my cell at 214-869-8856 if you have any questions. Chris will be back in the office next Tuesday. 

 

1.                The eastbound lanes look good.

 

2.                On the westbound main lane pavement markings, a short length of curve to the north has been introduced between the two 500’+ curves to the south. Our concern is that
this combination of three curves sandwiched together with be awkward for drivers.

o       The short curve can be eliminated by trimmed the existing curb back on the northeast corner per our conceptual alignment (preferred). Please note that this curb is being impacted
by other construction for an inlet and curb ramps. 

o       Alternatively, it’s possible that the radius of the 500’+ curves could be adjusted to eliminate the short curve in between.

 

3.                Provided that the proposed 3-36” storm pipes and headwall fall within the existing right-of-way and drainage easement, we have no other comment relative to their location.
However, the designer will need to check that the slope of the new pipes is not less than that of the existing pipes; otherwise, the system capacity will be reduced.

 

4.                The storm pipe that you requested (per Halff’s drainage study) from the northeast corner to the southwest corner has not been included.

 

5.                As a note to the designer, the curb tapers to the proposed inlet on the northeast corner will have to be shortened below the Town’s standard; otherwise they will encroach
into the sidewalk ramps on either side.

	We have revised the lane alignments per Bruce's comments - they are close to what he had - WB lanes are just a tad different. We also revised the ROW to reflect the dedication as well
as the drainage easement. These are for your review and comments before we revise our plans to reflect these changes.

	 

	I am sending the Horizontal Control Sheet to show the EB outside lane with the 500 radius Bruce had asked for

	 

	Also the signing plan to show PC's and PT's of all lane lines as well as the radii of them

	 

	Last one is revised drainage at SE corner where we'll extend the existing 3 - 36" pipes and install a Type CH - PW - 0 TxDOT headwall - concrete headwall parallel wings

	 

	We have not revised all of the callouts - just wanted to get the picture right for your review and comments. So let us know if you have any so we can get everything revised. Thanks
