METHODIST HOSPITAL PROJECT Water Main Shut Down at Intersection of Addison Road & Sojourn Sunday, 11/15/09 - 7am: Requirements prior to Equipment / Crew Mobilization: * Confirm with Addison all valve operations acceptable as needed to proceed. * Determine from Addison final requirements & methods for hydrostatic pressure testing & water sampling. * Confirm final embedment requirements from Addison at 16" RCCP Cross Connection. * Confirm concrete encasement or collars by means of hand mixing acceptable to Addison. * Meeting with all members responsible for this work to finalize any unaddressed or unconfirmed specifications, requirements, concerns. SCHEDULE: Thursday, 11/12/09 * Mobilize Equipment, Unload Pipe & Fitting deliveries, Set up barricades at 9am, remove road plates, excavate backfill material, and begin continued jack hammering and hand excavation to expose all portions of the existing tee, valve, & main. At this time, additional saw cutting may be required. * Material delivery to include (1) 16x10 All Flange Cross, (2) 16" All Flange GV, (2) 10" MJxFLG GV, (1) 12x10 C110 LEB Reducer, (2) 16" RCCP FLG x PE Adapters, (1) 10" C110 MJ Long Sleeve, and mechanical joint restraint * Re-plate roadway & lay down barricades at City specified time to continue following day. Friday, 11/13/09 * If intended work from previous day was not completed, continue the task until preparations complete for main connection to take place Sunday. Sunday, 11/15/09 - 7am TILL: * 7am Barricade set up, City valves to be isolated per Town of Addison personnel, remove (2) 10'x20' road plates * Cut & de-water existing water line * Install pipe/valve/fitting assembly per Addison specification. Hanson to weld joints. * Install wrappers at weld joints & fill with concrete. (Any concrete required for this scope or for blocking may need to be hand mixed due to Sunday work) * Backfill & Compaction per Addison specification (RO: Lab is to be available on site for compaction testing. If unavailable, please notify us so we may plan this work for Monday) * Replace plates to cover excavated area * Lay down barricades pending the following week's pavement replacement work * Water main shut-down time expected is 6 hours. Week of 11/9/09: * Load & hydrostatic test the proposed/installed Water Connection (This method must still be confirmed prior to testing) * Pull water samples per City of Addison specification. (This method must still be confirmed prior to testing) * Once pressure testing is approved, our intention is to provide pavement replacement in this excavated area earliest possible during this same week. Pavement replacement will be per the attached detail, modified to 3" asphalt overlay, per the Town of Addison request.
