Clay, Looks as though our main issue with re-building the concrete invert is the now existing & constant flow of sewer which runs from the hospital & through the manhole. Without hiring a vactor service to continually manage the flow of sewer while building a new concrete invert, we have no way to bypass the manhole to allow for the concrete to set up. Also, without another manhole between the building & this manhole, vactoring would be a difficult process to say the least. As a potential alternate to your suggestion, we would like to propose installation of a drop bowl. The Reliner Inside Drop Bowl, Model A-6 (as recommended by the manufacturer based on our described situation) could provide a solution to this issue. We will need to confirm field measurements, but it appears there may be enough room to install this device with a 90 degree bend attached immediately beneath the bowl to allow the sewer to flow to the currently constructed invert. This device is accepted in many of the surrounding cities for inside drop connections. Most recently, we have installed them in the City of Dallas & in the City of McKinney. Please review & let us know your thoughts. Our salesman, for the manufacturer’s rep, Ferguson Enterprises, could talk with you directly if needed to explain the installation & design for use. He can be reached by cell at 972-880-6988. Controlled drop with RELINER Inside Drop Bowl * Solids and liquids remain together * Easy inspection and cleaning from above * Erosion of structure eliminated (walls and benches) * H2S emissions reduced * Reduced maintenance * Service from street eliminates confined space entry * Use in wet wells to reduce pump cavitation * Several sizes in stock * Custom sizes available The Drop Bowl is available in several sizes in round and flat configuration: * "A" Drop Bowls: The "A4" bowl will service up through full 6" inlets. The "A6" bowl will service up through full 8" inlets. Can be used for 10" and 12" inlet moderate flows. A Force Line Hood is available to fit the "A" Bowl. Basically the manhole should flow from the inlet to the outlet. It current plunges over 0.6’ from what I am told. If the bottom on the side of the inlet is raised 0.6’ to the flowline of the inlet, this should correct the problem. If you have any additional questions, please let me know.
