Also, I forgot to mention that new LIDAR topo for Dallas County is scheduled to be released in Sept. 2010. The Tarrant Co version of this has already been released and it appears to be very good topo. Cc: Barnett, Clay Subject: RE: FEMA DFIRM Review for Addison Nancy, However, it is possible that the NGA topo may pick up changes (fills, site grading) that may have occurred between the mid 1980's (WRC topo) and 2003 (date of the NGA data). That could be explored and corrected if significant. This would be fairly easy to check and I don't think it would add much to the cost. TO pick up anything newer than 2003 would require survey or topo that we are not aware of. Thanks and hope that you are well. Cc: Barnett, Clay; Skipwith, Walter Subject: RE: FEMA DFIRM Review for Addison Nancy, The image below shows the floodplain comparisons between 2001 Effective FIRM (B&W background) and latest Preliminary DFIRM (blue - Zone AE, green - Zone X). About 5 lots in Addison will be in the floodplain along WRC that are not already. Depending on finished floor elevations, these properties along with others which have increased floodplain could be affected by this DFIRM update. Since the WRC study was prepared for Dallas using 1989 1-Ft contour topo, we did not think there would be any difference in this area comparing with 2003 NGA 1-Ft topo. Therefore, we do not think it is necessary to do anything on White Rock in this proposal. Unless otherwise, please let us know. K. The proposal looks like we would not do anything along White Rock. I am just curious what the impacts are. Nancy From: Chow, Andy [mailto:achow@Halff.com] Sent: Wednesday, June 16, 2010 2:29 PM To: Nancy Cline Cc: Clay Barnett; Skipwith, Walter Subject: FEMA DFIRM Review for Addison Nancy, I have prepared a PowerPoint including descriptions of five (5) problem areas and a proposal. This will give you a general idea of how HALFF can assist you to correct floodplains during the coming DFIRM appeal period (July-August 2010). Please let us know if you have any questions.
