Bill, Do you think the rock needs to go all the way to the surface or is there a point at which we can begin to fill with native material? Thanks, Clay Barnett, P.E. Please note that almost half of the price for this work is the full depth rock backfill. If we would eliminate this backfill and only do a foot or two of rock, the pricing would be significantly cheaper. Thanks and let me know if you have any questions. The top of the tan weathered limestone is approximately 4-5 feet deep in spite of what the geotechnical report indicates. Please make the necessary changes as quickly as possible. We need to get this situation resolved. Thanks, Clay Barnett, P.E. The weathered limestone begins near the top of the hill (Ponte Ave.). I recommend we do the subsurface investigation work before we decide what is needed. Little Subject: RE: VP Phase 1B Infra - Add Storm Drain Inlet Joel, Attached is a detail we got from the City of Carrollton for the subsurface drain. We need to run the drain from the inlet located at Sta. 6+65 to approximately Sta. 13+00. This will be added to the Phase 1B contract and can be included in Change Order 6 which is the removal of all the items that cannot be constructed prior to May 31 due to the delay in the bridge package. We will add the extension of the 18” RCP up to the right-of-way or drainage easement (if there is one) to the Phase 1B contract as well. Beyond that point we will either need to acquire a drainage easement or UDR will need to perform the work. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thanks, Clay Barnett, P.E. Little Cc: cbarnett@addisontx.gov; Bruce Dunne Subject: VP Phase 1B Infra - Add Storm Drain Inlet Eric, Per our meeting yesterday at the site, attached is an exhibit showing our recommendation for collecting the storm water runoff north of the northeast corner of Vitruvian Way and Park Road. The second exhibit contains the same information as the first but has been extended to the north so that you may see the original site conditions upstream. The drop inlet shown has been located based on the extension of the now existing 18” RCP storm drain stub-out, Line D4.1, and the relocated AT&T underground telephone cable (labeled UGT on the exhibit) in this area. We do not have any survey information as to the location of any of the now new features in this area (e.g. fencing, drainage channel, trees, irrigation, electrical, etc). If this storm drain inlet is to be installed, it will need to be coordinated with the existing features. It is my understanding that the Town has directed further subsurface investigation for any other subsurface water issues in this area. Please let me know if we need to provide any additional services for this item or if any additional construction drawings are needed. Joel A. Massey Project Manager icon Consulting Engineers, Inc.
