Please have a look at it and let me know if you have any comments. Thanks, Clay Barnett, P.E. As you are aware, the Vitruvian Park signage design, presented to and approved by the Town, will utilize round posts (in a brown color consistent with the Vitruvian Park branding), a decorative base escutcheon and various standard & decorative sign mounting brackets. All regulatory signs will be standard signs mounted to the special mountings. The posts are available in a standard power coated steel color, “national park brown”, which has been verified as an acceptable match to the intended development color. The proposed small sign mounting standards, for the Park, differ from the direction that you had previously indicated to us for regulatory signs along Vitruvian Way. We would like to pursue a small sign mounting system that would satisfy both regulatory and non-regulatory conditions in the entire development. Our previous direction was to use a DOT, FHWA approved slip-base breakaway system for regulatory signs along Vitruvian Way. This system requires the use of very large 2.875” diameter sign posts as well as the very large mounting base typically seen on highways. We would like to use a socket and wedge system with 2.375” diameter sign posts to be consistent with the Park signage. This system is also a DOT, FHWA approved system and we have suggestions to prevent the constructability issues you said you had at Addison Circle with the system set in concrete. Attached is information of the preferred small sign mounting standards and posts we would like to use for both Regulatory and Non-Regulatory signs. Please review the information and let us know if this system will be acceptable for all Vitruvian Park development signage. Joel A. Massey Project Manager icon Consulting Engineers, Inc.
