I see no problem with putting the silt fence where suggested. Please let us know if this is acceptable so that they can proceed. Thanks. ________________________________ From: Andrew Rolph [mailto:arolph@ntexcon.com] Sent: Wednesday, October 07, 2009 4:08 PM To: Jennifer Haynes; dwhitaker@forcecon.net Cc: 'Clay Barnett'; Nick Jacob; wgeistweidt@kleinfelder.com; 'Clint Thomas'; anord@ntexcon.com Subject: RE: Vitruvian Park Solutions: 1. ForceCon needs to replace the silt fence that was removed during the installation of the gas line. Silt fence will be re-installed beginning tomorrow around 8:30 per ForceCon, pending weather. 1. fence needs to be placed at the edge of the existing pavement from Marsh Lane to the Lemmons property. ForceCon can place the fence that they removed along the edge of the pavement instead of at the property line. Silt fence cannot be installed along the edge of existing pavement b/c it will later interfere with my scope of work. Silt fence needs to be installed behind the proposed light pole bases; please let me know if this will not suffice. There was never any silt fence from Park to Marsh Lane? Is this going to be an add? Please let me know and I will coordinate accordingly. 1. Construction entrances need to be installed at Ponte Avenue and Park Road. I believe I was told that ForceCon took out the entrance at Ponte (North Texas and ForceCon can work it out). Ever since the duct bank was installed at Park Road, it's been an ongoing issue. Larger rock that will last and serve as a true construction entrance needs to be installed. 3-5" rock is currently being spread as a permanent rock entrance at Ponte. The entrance at Park has been restored as a good faith effort, but note that we are about to pave Park and Ponte along this path. It was mutually agreed upon by all parties last week that Andres would not be working along this side of the building until we finished this portion of paving. Also, last week, we were told that Andres' employees and subcontractors would stay off our roadwork; since then they have tracked up and down creating ruts and making a mess of the roads. The ruts hold water which will in turn add about a day or two to our drying out effort in this time of heavy rainfall. I have already discussed and resolved this issue with Andres, but I thought it was important to re-iterate for the purpose of argument. In closing, I would like to re-iterate that the aforementioned silt fence was not part of NTC's scope; it was a direct result of an Atmos affiliated project. Also, Andres needs to be sure they are cleaning the roadway as they continue to initiate traffic in and out of their site. NTC has not been onsite but once this week, yet we have sent a crew over there everyday to clean, scrape, and sweep the roads?? Moving forward, other parties onsite need to be responsible for their own actions and not just point the blame at NTC! If we continue to work together and stop pointing fingers, we can accomplish a lot more and complete this project in a timely manner. Regards, Andrew D. In order to remedy the situation the following things need to happen immediately: 1. ForceCon needs to replace the silt fence that was removed during the installation of the gas line. 2. Silt fence needs to be placed at the edge of the existing pavement from Marsh Lane to the Lemmons property. ForceCon can place the fence that they removed along the edge of the pavement instead of at the property line. 3. Construction entrances need to be installed at Ponte Avenue and Park Road. Larger rock that will last and serve as a true construction entrance needs to be installed. The City Manager is now involved, so Clay and I would greatly appreciate your cooperation in making this a priority especially with heavy rains coming again tomorrow.
