From: Craig Williams [mailto:CWilliams@weirbrosinc.com] Sent: Wednesday, May 26, 2010 9:08 AM To: Jennifer Haynes Subject: Gas Station Tank Backfill Jennifer, After looking at the area to be backfilled with you yesterday, I have some questions. 1. Pertaining to the existing material stockpiled on site in plastic a.) Is the material contaminated? NO – THE MATERIAL UNDER THE PLASTIC IS PEA GRAVEL. b.) If it is contaminated, do you want is material hauled off? c.) If it is contaminated, has it been tested and do you know what Class of contamination? d.) We will need the report and the Class of Material to know which Landfill it has to go to. NOT NEEDED – JUST TRANSPORTING TO AND STORING ACROSS THE CREEK FROM YOUR TRAILER 2.) There is still gravel in the bottom but I do not know a depth (is there any information on the tanks and the depth of gravel below them) and is this gravel contaminated also? GRAVEL IS NOT CONTAMINATED 3. There are at lease 2 piers with H beam steel imbedded in them do these need to be demolished? _ NO. THE TANK CONTRACTOR IS TAKING THEM DOWN 18” AND LEAVING. 4. If the stockpile material is to remain on site it will have to be relocate because the existing hole goes back underneath the concrete the stockpile is setting on. THE ONLY THING THAT NEEDS TO REMAIN ONSITE IS THE CONCRETE FROM THE APRON THAT NEEDS TO BE DEMO’ED. THIS CAN BE PUSHED UP NEXT TO THE BUILDING AND LEFT FOR THE BLDG DEMO CONTRACTOR TO REMOVE. 5. We will need a bigger area or demo due to having to put a ramp down into the hole. OK This information will help me in pricing due to the cost of related in the disposal of material & piers.
