After review of the earthwork figures and in light of the conversations and opinions of the parties involved here is what NTC would request based on the mass reduction in scope.

 

1)      Deletion of 14,500 CY of Channel for contractual unit price of $ 13 / CY for a total of < $ 188,500 > credit to the City

2)      Leave the unclassified street excavation and topsoil unit price the same.

3)      Create a revised item for the smaller quantity of channel excavation of 4,500 CY at $ 15 / CY and a new total of $ 67,500

4)      The new unit price is the same as the street excavation and is only a net $ 9,000 increase and the city gets a credit for $ 121,000.

5)      This is an adjustment request that is $ 33,600 less than in the previous correspondence I sent in my letter.

6)      The $ 9,000 represents the bottom figure that we can come up with to maintain a positive cost on this work.

7)      In summary, NTC has revised our requested adjustment from $ 42,600 to $ 9,000.  

 

Please review these figures and let me know if acceptable.  I reduced everything as much as possible.  If this does not seem reasonable please let me know.  As stated in the meeting
I do not want the City to lookm negatively on this request, but simply would like to adjust the cost based on the overall gross reduction in scope.  Thanks again for the consideration
