Jennifer, upon reading your email below, I called Clay to discuss the situation with the tree a bit further. I believe he was misinformed on the proposed location of the headwall in relation to the tree; from that came the misunderstanding that something would need to be modified in order to save this tree. Once Clay understood that we were not going to have to excavate any closer the tree, the decision was agreed upon to commence with work on the headwall as currently proposed. Clay, please respond quickly if our conversation still stands as we are currently working to install this headwall and proposed rock rip rap. Thanks for your help, Andrew D. The reason being is that Nancy and Clay want Bruce to come up with an alternative solution to save the tree.
