Zach, Want to make sure we are still on for 2pm today. Clay and Bruce have both made plans to attend. The issue is solved by stopping the water from getting to this area. Accomplishing this is as simple as leaving the damn sump pump on. I am here all day and would love to go and walk the area and have someone show me where it is too wet to remix. Little; vmarshall@ntexcon.com Cc: Nick Jacob; 'Miles Britt'; arolph; 'Marty Murphy'; 'Clay Barnett' Subject: RE: Vit Park Eric, Here is JRJ's position: They feel that the water seepage underground is not contained and not solved. They believe the water is running under the lime layer on the surface that is obviously dry and saturating the layer below this. The ground outside the lime is still saturated and a slip form paver cannot be walked through it. They do not want to proceed until the water issue is remedied in full since they will be providing the warranty and the maintenance for the paving. They claim a much longer area than the area that the existing sump pit is controlling exists and think the problem is much larger. I have not seen the areas so I am coming there today. I would like to excavate below the lime layer and see how wet the ground is. I would also like you to ask Icon to answer the RFI about the water source and remedy immediately so we can get a proposed fix. Marty w/ JRJ wants to undercut 1' at the saturated areas to a width wide enough to cover his slip form and install dry lime trimmings to at least get a solid surface to pave on. I understand that this issue is going to be a matter of opinions as to if it is too wet to pave and if there is an issue with future subgrade movement. I don't think it is smart to pave over saturated subgrade because the top lime layer will appear to be dry when the section below could be very unstable. Marty is willing to come today around 2:00 which I think is the best plan so all parties can settle the issue and move forward. We cant continue to disagree on if the area is too wet and we need to move forward and pave. Eric, can you meet at 2:00 today? No Durable working yet - need to know where these guys are. 2. JRJ not only is not remixing, they actually pulled their re-mix machine off the project and sent it to another job after letting it sit out here idle for almost a week. Would you be so kind as to find out why we aren't remixing and why they pulled their equipment off? What I'm saying is we need to do more to dry this out so we can get rolling on the paving. We can't just keep pushing the schedule back and waiting on Mother Nature to dry things out. If we hadn't wasted 4 beautiful days last week, I wouldn't be so pissed off today. The obvious response to the no-show is that it is too wet. This is also obviously up for discussion which hopefully you and Victor will agree on when the job is walked. We have people returning to the job to pump any spots holding water to try and aid the drying out of the subgrade & site. Please voice your concerns to Victor so can see if we can help.
