Eric, The Bid Plan & Construction Plan and the Current Plan for sheet 19 (attached) ALL show the berm. I do not believe that the berm grading has been completed. As long as the berm grading is constructed, the surface water from the northeast will enter the inlet and not the street as intended. The “grade to drain” for the new drop inlet location is new because of the inlet being relocated for the monument sign addition (issued on 11-20-09). They are going to need dirt to finish the berm, but if they would rather haul the dirt from somewhere else instead of just getting it from around the drop inlet, tell them to go ahead. Any additional grading needed around the drop inlet can be done with the monument sign project. I do not recommend paying them anything additional. Please let me know if you would like to discuss. It appears as though it was added per the changes that were issued on December 14, 2009 by Joel. I have asked Marty to do a quick takeoff on the dirt quantity for this area so that we can get a change in quantity for “Unclassified Excavation” change order going so that they can complete this work. Please let me know if you agree / disagree with this or have any other comments regarding it. I have also attached the two drawings as reference for you. Thanks Andy Andrew D.
