Clay, In conjunction with the design of Sanitary Sewer line extension (SS-B) for the Proposed DISD Bush ES, due to locations of the two existing City of Farmers Branch water lines (one on the south side of Spring Valley Road and one on the north side of Spring Valley Road), it is critical that the actual depth of the existing lines be determined prior to the final design. I have discussed on the telephone and met with the City of Farmers Branch Public Works employees, provided exhibits to them on their “As-Built” plans and on our “Preliminary Design” plan in an attempt to get the COFB to locate their lines and provide us the information. They originally indicated that they might do that, but, as you can read below, that will not be the case. Copies of what was provided to the COFB is attached in PDF format. The current SS-B extension design allows for only 14” of clearance between the proposed SS-B extension bore casing and the existing COFB 16” AC water line based on the City’s plans. It is our opinion that this is not enough clearance to proceed with the design without actually locating the water line(s) in the field. There are other SS-B design options, at additional costs to the project, but these options would also require accurate locates of the existing COFB water line(s). Will the Town of Addison have the existing COFB water line(s) located in the field? Joel A. Massey Project Manager icon Consulting Engineers, Inc. Bicentennial Financial Center 250 W. The City will, upon your request, mark the location of the water line on the ground. Call the Public Works main number at 972-919-2597 to schedule the ground locate of the line. Call me if you have any other concerns. Thanks, Chris Harrington
