SUBJECT: Bury depth of FH at 1+25 

QUESTION: The typical fire hydrant installation detail shown on sheet 62 calls out for a maximum hydrant bury depth of 5'. Due to the conflicting grade of the existing 6" HP gas main,
the thrust block would end up right on the gas main.

PROPOSED SOLUTION: NTC proposes to lower the bury depth down 2' to all the room needed to pour a thrust block and not affect the gas main. No additional cost will be incurred to the
Town of Addison for this additional hydrant bury depth. I have attached pictures for your reference.
