You are correct; they are not dug yet. I just e-mailed the container grower to get scales photos of the Pond Cypress and to find out where both types of trees are located and when we could tag if the trees are approved. Can we get photos of the container Pond Cypress with a scale figure? ________________________________ From: Kevin Sloan Sent: Monday, March 14, 2011 5:56 PM To: Robyn Jacobson Subject: Re: OK redbud photos Most of the redbuds in this group are acceptable, assuming they meet the height spec. The tree in the last photo is crooked. Also, these trees do not appear to be “pre-dug.” Mortality may be higher than normal for plant materials that are yanked out of the ground after they have already flowered and budded...then put on a truck and shipped. As attractive as the trees are in form, I’m skeptical that the survival rate is going to fall within normal parameters... 15% loss, max. Comments from contractor? Even if they say they’re guaranteed, the “trauma” of replacing large quantities of trees is not a comfortable experience for anyone. It ususall conflicts right when clients want to open a place for use. A lot of dead trees doesn’t make a good impression.
