Based on the soil nail verification tests performed, our assumed allowable pullout values have been essentially confirmed and we do not see the need for any modifications to the current
design.  

 

However, due to the highly variable soil conditions observed during initial construction of the lake edge walls, we believe it would be prudent to perform additional proof testing of
the production nails (2% minimum, or 1 every 50).  The shop drawings (attached) have been revised accordingly to call for the additional testing.  The proof test logs are also attached
for the three different nail lengths on the project.
