Tom and Clay, I want to offer my apologies for this string of emails yesterday. Sometimes I let my anger in these kinds of situations override my professionalism. I will do my best to make sure this doesn’t happen again. You did see the submittals on the signs – you commented on them via email to me (see attached). You never did add any comments on the power. Also, I spoke to Andres and they never added a thickened concrete base for this sign. Their exact words were “I don’t know what the f*ck you are talking about.” We are just going to move forward and remove the pavers, pour the base and have NTC price the wire unless you guys can point me to something in the contract documents that I can send NTC showing them that this is in their scope. The circuit connection should be addressed in the shop drawings. A photo control is not required because the street lighting circuit is already photo controlled. Can we stop the unending email and just have a conversation to decide what needs to be done for this item? Joel From: Eric T. Is this on a note somewhere on the electrical or signage plans? I’m awaiting verification that Andres did install this thickened slab. Little Cc: Tom Forrest; Tom Lamberth; Clay Barnett; Bruce Dunne Subject: RE: Vit Park - Signage Issue Eric, There should not be any issues related to provisions for the Parking Cube Signs. Provisions for the Parking Cube Signs have been provided at all locations in the Phase 1B Infrastructure package now complete. Parking cube sign locations were shown on the Phase 1B plans for conduit route from the nearest street lighting pole base. Operation of the sign lighting is to be connected to the street lighting controls as indicated on the sign plans. Phase 1B related sheets are attached for your reference. Andres Construction provided a thicken concrete base with conduit in place (below the existing pavers) for the parking cube sign location on VP101 at Ponte Ave. All Parking cube sign locations are included the Phase 1C published proposed layout CAD file BP1VPcPBS. The location of the parking cube sign at park road is shown on Phase 1C sheet C203. The coordinate locations for the two along Ponte Ave. can be taken from the published CAD file or we can provide. Wiring of the signs to the street lighting circuit was to be provided by the sign sub-contractor. Please let me know if you have any additional questions concerning provisions for future construction. Joel A. Massey Project Manager icon Consulting Engineers, Inc. Currently the signage package calls for these PK1 signs at the corner of Park Road and Vit Way and at the garage entry areas into Savoye One and Two. They are shown to be lighted, but there is no power shown to them anywhere on the plans that I can see. Plus the one at Savoye One would require demo of even more pavers to build the footer and bring power to it. I honestly don’t see the point in these signs at least on Ponte and I would recommend deleting them there and keeping the one at Park Road. Thoughts?
