He indicated that the ones going into the bearing strata can change in height.  On the ones that can change in height, I indicated that we did need a breakout.  Please prepare the addendum
for a breakout of the piers that can change in height.

When with met with Victor on Thursday the 29th for a final review of his plans, Victor told you that the top and bottom elevations for all piers on this project were clearly denoted
on the plans and that they were not going to change.  We both told you that we were going to call out the length of the piers for each structure in the special provisions item for each
structure, and you said you were fine with that, but you wanted a bid item for pier casings for each of the pier sizes.  We have done exactly as you requested (Reference bid items 319,
320 and 321).  There is no need to bid the piers by linear foot because they are not going to change from what is shown on the plans.  Each of the pier lengths is clearly called out
in the applicable special provisions for each structure for the contractor to bid off of.

As was discussed prior to bid and during the pre-bid meeting, there will be a unit price for all of the piers on the project.  Please prepare an addendum that includes a unit breakout
by structure for all of the piers in the project.  The addendum will need to be issued Monday at the latest without having to postpone the bid.

 

I am going through the plans to see if there are any other unaddressed items.  If so, we will need to include those in the addendum as well.
