Slade- Sounds great to me. We will do what we need to do. Thanks. ________________________________ From: Slade Strickland [mailto:sstrickland@addisontx.gov] Sent: Monday, October 26, 2009 10:59 AM To: Tom Lamberth Cc: Robyn Jacobson; Carmen Moran; Nancy Cline; Clay Barnett; Ron Whitehead Subject: Tree RX Tom I spoke with Robyn this morning regarding the possibility of hiring a tree consultant to look at providing Rx for the preserved live oaks. I do not think we need an arborist. The contractor should provide temporary chain link fencing (not orange barricade fencing) just beyond the drip line to keep vehicles off to eliminate compaction. Compaction is the worst enemy for root systems. I think we can require this of the contractor and save some money by not hiring an arborist. I will come up with a plan to aerate and fertilize the tree based on some work I have done with tree Rx. It's pretty simple...core aerate and put fertilizer down.
