Matt, I believe there is some confusion about how the bid is structured. The bid is all inclusive. Contractors cannot bid on just portions of the work. Therefore, if you do not plan to bid the entire job, you will need to find someone who does and discuss pricing with them. With this in mind, I will attempt to answer the questions: 1.) Will the landscape contractor be responsible for transplanting and relocating the Preserved Live Oaks? Transplanting of the preserved live oaks is included in the contract. If so, please clarify sizes of the existing Live Oaks. The existing live oaks are roughly 8” – 12” in diameter. Is the landscape contractor responsible for storage and care of these trees until transplanting? No, the trees have been moved to a location adjacent to the creek at the south end of the project. If so, where will the storage yard be located? Will water be at the site? The trees are currently being irrigated and will be until transplanting. 2.) Will the pruning, removing deadwood, raising canopies, aeration and fertilization of the existing trees be the responsibility of the landscape contractor? Yes, this is included in the contract. 3.) Root barrier protection is listed on the bid form but not found on any of the plans in this bid set. Please clarify. The location of the root barriers is identified in the structural engineering plans. 4.) Is placement of the 4” topsoil on all planting areas within the landscape contractors’ scope of work? Yes, placement of 4” of topsoil is included in the contract. 5.) Is the power raking under the existing trees within the landscape contractors’ scope of work? Please clarify. Yes, power raking is included in the contract. If you have any additional questions, please let me know. Thanks, Clay Barnett, P.E.
