We did not discuss the part about an “approved at&t contractor” to demolish the hand hole but we will address that once construction begins. Since we are doing the at&t duct bank we will have an approved sub-contractor. We discussed the hand hole located at station 30+80 and I have no objection to the elimination of the hand hole. The cable and splice that is within that hand hole may be directly buried. Any approved at&t contractor may demolish that hand hole and bury the cable. That work may be done at any time as no cable or splicing work is required. Steven J. The plans include the realignment of Vitruvian Way to a new intersection point at Spring Valley Road. Bid plans are to be advertised October 1, 2010 for Vitruvian Way Extension Paving, Drainage and Utility Improvements in conjunction with another project, Spring Valley Road improvements prepared by Halff Associates. I need to discuss existing and proposed AT&T facilities with someone at AT&T to insure that we can address any telephone line conflicts before construction and have shown adequate proposed AT&T duct bank infrastructure for future use. I have attached sheets CS, 3, 5, 6, 10, 15, 21, 22, 25, 28 & 29 (one file) of the bid plans for your reference. Below is a list of areas that we believe represent potential telephone line issues: 1. Sheet 3 – Removal of 19 large trees & 12” water line in close proximity to the existing telephone line. 2. Sheet 3 – Existing telephone vault near VW station 30+80, 44’ RT needs to be eliminated. 3. Sheets 5 & 15 – Proposed and Future streetscape, landscape trees & street lighting in close proximity to the existing telephone line. 4. Sheet 10 – Proposed storm drain line SD-A5 & SDA5.3 crossing the existing telephone line. 5. Sheet 21 & 22 – Proposed water line W A12 & reconnection of existing water services in close proximity to the existing telephone line. 6. Sheet 25 – Proposed sanitary sewer lines SS-B4 & SS-B5 in close proximity to the existing telephone line. Are you the correct person at AT&T that we should be in contact with? Please let me know.
