Subject: Well Drilling Process
Good Morning Clay,
I was able to confirm some information with a well driller. The smaller rigs are about 45 feet in length and the larger one are 65 feet in length. These rigs do exceed H20 loading.
The drill pipe is delivered on a tractor trailer flatbed. There is a reserve pit for water and a frac tank. This driller has a frac tank mounted to a trailer and must be accessible
to a vacuum truck to pump out the tank when it gets full. They really do need to have everything in the same area. Ideally they would have a 150 square foot area with the well location
in the middle and it’s a messy operation. A typical drilling operation needs to accommodate six tractor trailer trucks on site.
