Thanks Clay. We discussed a long list of items in the meeting with Kleinfelder yesterday and I think addressed all of the comments on the list below. I am forwarding your comments to Lisa and Kent with this email to for a detailed review. On Item No. 1 there will be an enclosure as you suggested, and not a prefabricated building. It will be similar to the one at this link: http://www.tracomfrp.com/enclosures.htm . Tom L. and Eric approved it, with the beige color, a few weeks ago. Kleinfelder has agreed to have the completed corrected set to the Town of Addison by Thursday morning. Note #2 shown below the exterior details does not seem to refer to Note #2 shown on the page. I assume that the intent was to use the structure specified in Section 11200 of the specification. As you are aware there is a large amount of concern about aesthetics associated with this project. I recommend seeking the approval of UDR, Inc. on the prefabricated buildings prior to issuing the project for construction. Could a small enclosure be used in lieu of a prefabricated building (i.e. a millbank for the electrical equipment and an enclosure similar to what was used for the recirculation system would be applicable)? 2. The 4” is installed up to the approximate location of the well. Either the discharge could be connected to the well at this point or the 4” could be used as a sleeve and the 1½” pipe could be pushed through the sleeve, but it would be necessary to remove the bends in the 4” in order to solvent weld the 1½” pipe. 3. The silt fence and construction staging is outside the limits of the property controlled by UDR, Inc. and the Town of Addison. 4. The well easement is not necessary. The well will be located within the public rights-of-way for Bella Lane. 5. Plan sheets include numerous misspellings included "treaded" and "dishcharge" and others. Please verify spelling on plan documents. Additionally, there is a dimension on the well head detail that cannot be read. 6. The typical trench detail is not necessary because we do not have any pipe that is 4” or larger. If we do need the detail, it should match the Town of Addison detail and can be found on the website. 7. The installation of the primary power conduit needs to be included in the plans and specifications. Please coordinate with Icon Consulting Engineers, Inc. to identify the power source. 8. Price of plans is usually established to reflect actual cost of reproduction ($125 appears too high). 9. Item Y under Section IB-6 needs to be revised to be applicable to a well installation. 10. Item 19 under Section SP-8 sets the $/day amount at $2,500. Normally the incentive/disincentive for this size of project would be closer to $250/day with a $6,000 maximum. 11. The Town of Addison does not stock parts for Badger meters. We would prefer to specify a Hersey meter. Please specify a Hersey meter that would be applicable to this application. 12. Treatment is listed as only alternate bid item but specifications list three bid alternates (SP-29 , number 74 - " Bid alternates have been established for three items as follows: "Add alternate" number 1 will be the "Greensand Filter". "Add alternate" number 2 will be the "1 1/2" Well Discharge Pipe", "Add alternate" number 3 will be the "Pond Low Level Cable and Conduit". Section 11200 (page 6) references 2.7 Greensand Filter (Alternate Bid Item). 13. Are there minimum qualifications expected from bidders? What is considered "experience in the type of work involved?" Who will verify? 14. On cover sheet, please change Nancy Cline, P.E. to Nancy Straub Cline, P.E. 15. Cover Sheet should be sealed or include the disclaimer as required by TBPE. Additionally the firm registration number should be included as required by TBPE. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks, Clay Barnett, P.E.
