If so they already have some backer plated welded on arch. They are only 3/8 in thick and 1 in wide per shop drawing. I talked to Robert Boswell and looks like we’ll x-ray most of the welds and then do UT on the ones that we can’t get to both sides of. Also, the AWS code book requires that backing bars be 3 inches wide if we are going to x-ray those welds. Please pass that along. If they aren’t 3 inches wide, then we have to do UT.
