Yesterday, Joe Davila of American Landscape Systems and I met with Nick and Jennifer yesterday and discussed the following: 1) Condition of sleeving on medians between Ponte and the Spring Valley end of the project and how to resolve one sleeve that appears to be blocked: Per Joe, American will contact their boring company to see if they will attempt to bore through the existing sleeve. Their boring company will not bore a new sleeve due to extensive utilities in the immediate area. 2) Tree bubbler zone shown on plans where UDR temporary irrigation and plantings are occurring along right-of-way near Bella: Concluded American to run lateral line from median to right-of-way and stub up into a valve box for future installation. No bubbler zone to be installed at this time. 3) Tree bubbler zone and tree plantings shown on plans on right-of-way opposite grotto: Concluded American to run lateral line from median to right-of-way and stub up into valve box and complete installation when park construction and timing allows. American will have to expose the sleeve on the right-of-way; UDR and American will coordinate temporary removal of wooden wall panel(s) to facilitate the work. American estimates will take 1 day to complete. 4) I met with Joe on the medians between Ponte and Marsh Ln. regarding apparent insufficient prep; upon testing with a probe, some areas appeared compacted. American removed irrigation drip lines and re-tilled the areas in question. Joe and I agreed to inspect together any future prep work prior to installation of drip lines and/or any landscaping. A few of the trees in front of Savoye 1 appeared too high; American lowered them and they now meet with approval. 5) I discussed with Nick the need to run 1” conduit with sweep elbows and proper wiring from the existing irrigation valves in the Savoye 1 bed where the fountain pump vault is being installed, under Ponte and to the corner of Savoye 2 so that the irrigation zone(s) for the trees wells on Ponte could be tied into the future Rainmaster controller at Savoye 2. Sufficient wire needs to be coiled up inside a valve box on the Savoye 2 side to allow for the run to the future controller. Currently the tree well zones are being ran by a battery powered controller. Now is the time to do this while the corner is disturbed for the fountain construction. He said he would talk with Roger. Note: Both #2 & 3 need to occur now to allow American to plant the median. Excavation to sleeve depth will have to occur both on the median and on the right-of-way in order to run the tree bubbler lateral lines.
