As you know, we are trying to find a stone mock-up that matches our vision of how we want the stonework in the park to look. Clay suggested we look at a house under construction at 5524 Westgrove Drive. He and I went over and looked at it this afternoon, and it is a good sample. It has walls that are large enough that we can see what the stone would look like on a large area. It is stone, not faux stone, and it appears to be a full stone veneer. It also appears to be a blend, as we saw pallets of what appeared to be Pennsylvania blue stone and other pallets of the more golden stone. We are focusing on the size and cut of the stone, not the color, so you can think about what it would look like without the more golden stones, or if you like those, we could consider a blend like this one. The last mock-up I saw had some more golden stones in it. I have included photos as well as a photo of the mock-up that is in Clay’s office. If you get a chance, drive by 5524 Westgrove (between Tollway and Preston on the south side of the street), look at the attached photos, and let us know your thoughts.
