>> Leave comment << New RFI No. 41 As of 19-Oct-2010 9:01 AM CT Vitruvian Infrastructure Phase 1C Park 4010 Marsh Lane Addison, Texas 75001 Project Number: 1308C Status: Outstanding Subject Interior Low Clearance Piers at Wildlife Observation Deck Reason Code None Question The drill shafts under the trees require casing and the casing cannot be extracted in the low clearance situation resulting in large increase in expense. We propose to modify the remaining drill shafts as follows to avoid the additional expense: 1. Drill the hole using our soil nail Auger mounted on excavator arm down to rock, eliminating the penetration. 2. Slide/Push in the PVC, this may be in pieces as small as 5' for the clearance. 3. Drill out inside the pvc as much mud as we can, install the rebar 4. Repeat for all 14 remaining Drill Shafts 5. Use Grout pump and attached Pea Gravel Mix design. Pump holes from the bottom displacing up the mud and water. 6. If the pea gravel mix fails to pump with the grout pump we'll resubmit using Grout. See attached mix design.
