Response to RFI No. 18 As of 14-Jul-2010 1:58 PM CT Vitruvian Infrastructure Phase 1C Park 4010 Marsh Lane Addison, Texas 75001 Project Number: 1308C Status: Outstanding Subject Pergola/Trellis Reason Code None Question 1. S101 calls for the exposed structural steel to be galvanized. L1-01 calls for the pergola and trellis to be powder coated. Please clarify. 2. SP308 calls for embed base plates for the pergola. L9-14 calls for the base plates installed with anchor bolts. If powder coating, plates with anchor bolts is the preferred method. If the pergola and trellis do get a powder coat finish, there will have to be some design and fabrication methods developed so the items will fit in a powder coaters oven and so installation can be completed with bolt together connections. Is it ok to have a non connected butt joint in these members at the centerline of the each column? In order to prevent water intrusion into the beams, cap plates will need to be detailed on the shopdrawings for the beams at each butt joint.
