Clay: You're probably tired of my thoughts on this issue, but I'll give you just one more anyway to consider: There was talk about potentially not addressing the cracks in the bridge until the fall. One thing to consider if that is pursued is not from an engineering viewpoint but from public perception. If you have to close the bridge to make "repairs" shortly after it was opened, that could be perceived negatively by the public. Especially since there will be a visible difference once completed. If it's done before the project is open to the public, I doubt anyone would know the difference.
