Eric/Clay: We looked at the proposed solution to address the potential erosion at the end of the limestone boulders. Utilizing the Enkamat turf mat would not be our recommendation. It is our opinion that there would still be an issue at the end with the grading and being able to effectively transition the slope using this material. It will also still be difficult to get anything established in this area with the eddys and turbulence from the creek. Further, it appears that a portion of the mat beyond where the wall ends would be submerged. Turf would not grow in this area so the mat would essentially be ineffective in this area. Our recommendation would be be to use a properly sized rock rip rap as a transition material and ideally, turn the ends of the boulders/concrete wall back into the slope. Brian J. LaFoy, P.E.
