Eric, Eric C. is questioning the steel quantities for the RFI changes. He said that some of the steel that they submitted for was in the original plans, but that their calculation of the weight was off. Since the steel is included with the concrete, the plans state that the contractor is to calculate his own steel quantity and use that for his bid and that the steel quantity in the plans is for estimating purposes only. Under this condition, Austin does not have the right to request reimbursement of the extra steel above the RFI changes. Also, check the number of days requested. Eric used their request of 23 days. I believe this is 7 days for this change order and 16 days of delays. Let me know if you have any comments. Thanks, Clay Barnett, P.E. I separated Item CO2-1 into three parts; two are for the lightning protection at each bridge and the third is for conduit and conductor at Bella. While I have an appropriate quantity for the length of the irrigation conduit that was added to Bella (201 LF), this item also includes additional conduit and conductor for lighting circuits. Therefore, I left the unit as LS. I'm concerned that by using the linear quantity I'd be suggesting a unit price that would not be representative of this item. Feel free to call me to discuss this further. Eric Eric S. CO1-1 needs to be broken into components. There was the 2 each lightning protection at $35,402.18 apiece and then the conduit under the bridge at $___ per linear foot (the total should be $7,579.44 and the # of linear feet from the plans). With these corrections, it looks good to go. Thanks for your help on this! Clay Barnett, P.E.
