Brian,
I thought about some kind of agreement where they come back in the fall and complete it then, but I do not yet know how that would work. We do have the advantage that in the fall the
only traffic going to that side of the creek should be Andres and we can close one bridge complete the work and then switch to the other. The only difficulty is working through how
we get this in writing so that we can release their final check.
Thanks,

Clay:
You didn't ask for my opinion on this, but I'll give it to you anyway: That makes sense to me. The cracks just won't open up in 105 degrees. That's frankly not what I understood Bill
to say previously which confused me because I agree with your email below and with what he is saying now.
The disadvantage to waiting until cooler temperatures is that if the bridge is opened to traffic prior to that, you'll have to close the bridge, clean it, apply the flood coat, and then
possibly have to answer questions from the public on why you just closed and worked on a new bridge. Other than that, I think that plan makes sense. I assume it would be covered under
ABR's maintenance bond.

Andrew,
I spoke with Bill Light. His statement about the cracks was because of the heat as opposed to any belief that this was not the right product for the problem. He stated that he believes
that the flood coat will effectively treat the cracking. The Silane Surface Treatment is a waterproofing and porosity treatment and is not intended to treat cracks. His recommendation
was that we wait until cooler weather before applying the flood coat to the Bella Lane deck and the approach slabs on Ponte. How would AB&R like to approach this?

No flood coat has been applied. At our last meeting, Halff said that the hairline cracks on Bella are not structural and he isn’t concerned with them. Bill Light with Sika said that
his product would not work on the cracks because they aren’t big enough.
In regard to the Ponte approach slabs, we never received direction from Halff on what to do. That is item 002.19 on the punch list and has not been addressed.
Please advise.

Andrew,
Has the flood coat to take care of the cracking on the Bella bridge deck and the approach slabs on Ponte been applied?

Andrew,
Please schedule the bridge deck to be cleaned off and flooded on Friday so we can check the drainage. We will close the bridge for traffic that day (pending Ponte pour tomorrow passing
3 day breaks).
Thanks,
Eric

Bella will be our only way over to the south side until Friday (NTC is pouring Ponte Tuesday).
Can we do it on Friday?

Eric,
We can take care of it at final payment. I will come look at Bella on Monday. Will they clean it off so we can flood it?

Clay,
FYI, the credit for the clear coat on Bella is $10,470.94. So to close out the contract, we need to credit this plus the one sign and I think we are done (when the clear coat issues
are addressed that is).
Thanks,
Eric

Eric,
Don said they have 10 gallons of the clearcoat left over, along with one 10 oz bottle of fugitive dye @ $10/oz which comes to a whopping $723.90. I’ve attached a copy of their Carboline
invoice. Any word from the rocket scientists at Carboline?
Also, the sandblasting is complete on the Bella sidewalk pourback. Looks like we only lack re-hanging the rods and cleaning up once the clearcoat issue is resolved. Then we’ll be done.
My money is on August 12…
Y’all have a good weekend,
