Eric, Geotel is actually contracted to UDR, not the Town. I just spoke to Todd and he agrees that getting Geotel to re-look at their data is the best course here. That being said, I do authorize Maxwell to proceed with this work. I am on vacation this week, so if you would pass that on to him and get him going, that would be great. Eric, We've been discussing this issue since we got back in the office yesterday and have arrived at a few conclusions: 1. We are ready and willing to check our design against revised lateral loading that would be provided by the geotech for the "failed" backfill 2. We believe it would be preferable to seek this revised lateral loading from Maxwell Zhang at Geotel, the original geotechnical engineer 3. Should Geotel be unwilling to provide this revised lateral loading, then we believe that Kleinfelder should be approached to provide their recommendations We have already contacted Maxwell and made him aware of this issue. In our opinion, the Town should contact him directly to authorize his effort and start this process. Once we have received the revised lateral loading, we will determine the acceptability of the existing walls and report our findings to the Town of Addison, UDR, and Austin. Should remedial measures be required, they can be addressed at that time. I trust that you find this method to be reasonable and look forward to your positive response. Eric C. Eric S. Eric/Todd: Apparently the triaxial test on the backfill material used on the Ponte abutments failed. You guys need to get with Geotel and go through the results and figure out a plan of action please. I am on vacation this week, so please keep Brian LaFoy, Clay Barnett and Nick Jacob in the loop.
