Tried to call – got your voicemail. Halff didn’t get the formal report, but they got all the info that is going to be in the report from what I understood. Is Eric saying something different here? We assume that select fills you planned to be placed behind the retaining walls of about 16 feet high has a strength of 200 psf in cohesion and 28 degrees in friction. The select fill should be properly compacted to a 95% of the maximum density in accordance with the standard proctor. The underlying natural soils exhibited a long term strength of 300 psf in cohesion and 11.5 degrees in friction from a direct shear test. Based on our computer analyses, the section you provided has a minimum of factor of safety of 1.31. A greater factor of safety could be obtained by improving backfill strengths behind the walls. A formal report will be issued sometime next week. Let me know if you have any questions. Wei (Maxwell) Zhang, P.E. Since Icon graded the site, we have forwarded this document to Bruce Dunne for his approval and expect he will do so quickly. Once he has approved the document, you should be free to run your global stability analysis at Ponte. Should you still need additional information at Ponte, please let us know. If this is acceptable, let us know and we'll send you similar sections at Bella and the Southern Pedestrian Bridge. Thank you! Eric Christiansen Eric S.
