Doug, We have received only one alternate substitute for the pedestrian bridge. You are welcome to contact other companies and ask them to submit for consideration. In regards to Section 86, my understanding was that we actually made it less strict in Addendum 1 than the original specification requirement. Before it was limited specifically to certified bridge erectors. We have now widened the specification to include certified building erectors as well. The addendum addresses a process for approving equals and I am just looking to see if we will be privy to any approved changes or if we have to make those “or equal” requests ourselves… Is the language in the addendum regarding Section 86 designed to exclude my forces from erecting the steel arches? We’ve hung millions of pounds of girders over live waterways. I don’t see this as anything we can’t handle.
