>> Leave comment << Response to RFI No. 77 As of 16-May-2011 1:29 PM CT Vitruvian Infrastructure Phase 1D Bridges 4010 Marsh Lane Addison, Texas 75001 Project Number: 1308D Status: Outstanding Overdue Subject Approach Slab Drainage at Curb Reason Code None Question The desired grades called out on Detail A of sheet S1-01 for the Ponte Ave abutment 2 approach slab at the curb were not achieved. Proposed Solution AB&R proposes to grind the area in front of the curb approximately 6”-8” wide and as deep as ¾” in order to prevent water from forming a “bird bath”. The grinding will start along the T401 rail, follow the curb line and taper out approximately 6’ after the curb radius. The area ground down will be sealed with Sikacrete 321 FS. Will this be acceptable? This problem may be on the Bella Lane abutment 4 approach slab as well. If so, AB&R proposes the same remedy. However, in lieu of Sikacrete 321FS, we are recommending that Sikagard 701W be applied to the grinding area instead. We are trying to confirm the Town's approval with this method and as soon as that's assured, we'll respond accordingly to close the RFI.
