Clay: Please review the following email and give me a call when you have a chance. There was obviously some misunderstanding between the contractors and the Addison engineering department and their opening date has now been delayed. I talked with Jack Seay and he said he thinks that a lot of the issues fall back to the school contractor. However, they will have all the piping in the vault completed next Tuesday and have asked we make sure we have the meter in hand and have it scheduled to install Tuesday the 10th of August. If there is any way that you can make sure the Town gets the meter installed on Tuesday I think that would go a long way with our DISD relationship. As I’m sure you remember sitting in some of those meetings. It was assumed that all the fittings, valves, flanges, supports, bypass assembly, etc. would be included with the meter installation. That assumption was wrong and has caused a delay in closing out the pool. Clay mentioned at one point that the Town would help to install these other lose ends but I was then told that Ratcliff needed to install the missing parts. You can probably talk to Jack Seay in more detail about it. Currently as we stand, the additional parts will not be here until next Monday with final installation Tuesday morning. If you could help in asking the Town to have the meter installed on Tuesday afternoon (8/10/10) or as soon as it is ready, we would appreciate it. Let me know if you’re up for having a lunch anytime soon and we can catch up. Hope all is well. I’m getting some mixed information on the progress and completion of the meter and was wondering if you could call me tomorrow morning so that we can discuss this issue. 1. I was told that the vault installed was not the correct size. The installed vault is 6’x11’ which is the size shown on the Town approved civil drawings. 2. I was told from the beginning of the project that the meter was ready as soon as the vault was installed. I’m now being told that there are fittings and parts that are not ready and installation cannot be completed. 3. We were informed that we had to give a two week notice. I was told that the Town was informed over 2 weeks ago of what week the vault would be installed. I want to get this installed correctly but I’m getting mixed information. Substantial completion is scheduled for Tuesday of next week and is a very critical date for the district. The partnership between the district and the Town has been very successful on these projects and if there is anything that I can do to get permanent water to Loos Pool by Monday of next week, please let me know.
