You are both correct.  Nancy’s is correct if you carry out the correct number of significant digits.  Tom’s is correct if you divide the amount by 3.  Since the non-rounding method yields
more construction $s for us, I would recommend Tom’s method.  The amount would be $152,678.

    0.5  x ($1,651,741) = $825,870                            one-half of Option B

+  0.33 x ($2,109,774 - $1,651,741) = $151,150       one-third of difference between Option A and Option B

 

=           $977,020

 

 

 

Sanitary Sewer Line - $63,000  (estimate from Bruce)
