Lea, As you are aware, there was some miscommunication on the installation of the meter and vault at the Loos Natatorium. There are a few attachments to this email: 1. The attachment titled “Water Vault” is an email from me to David Baxter with Ratcliff (the contractors for DISD). In the email chain is a series of questions from All American Construction, who is Ratcliff’s plumbing sub, concerning the appurtenances that were to be installed inside the vault. It appears at the time that they understood that the piping inside the vault was in their scope of work, so I am unsure why it was not completed by All American before this became an issue. 2. The attachment titled “RE: Loos Pool Water Meter Vault” is an email I sent to Jack Seay explaining the situation regarding the installation of the vault. 3. The third attachment is a shipment notification and invoice from Hersey where the Town purchased the meter for the Loos Natatorium Complex dated April 30, 2010. The meter has been in storage since April 30 awaiting the completion of DISD’s scope of work. The meter was installed late today after the DISD subcontractor completed the installation of the appurtenances. When Utilities asked the superintendent for Ratcliff if the meter was to be turned on, they were informed that there was still some work that had not been completed in the building. They were requested to leave the meter off until the work was completed and the double check valve assembly had been tested. The superintendant stated that the work would be completed tomorrow. Jason Sutton will check with them tomorrow to verify if the work is complete and if so will proceed with turning on the meter. Please let me know if there is any additional information that I can provide. Thanks, Clay Barnett, P.E.
