Frank, I am hoping to take off most of Thursday and all of Friday, but Monday should work … I am available anytime Monday morning, and after 2:00pm Monday afternoon. Whatever works better for you will be fine with me. I believe that the west end of Taxiway Romeo can be reconstructed without adversely affecting tenants; we would just have to route traffic around the west end of the EHOAA development. The east end may need to be done in two phases, to allow PlaneSmart and R5 T-hangar tenants to pass by. The attached graphic illustrates the areas to be reconstructed; we can make minor adjustments if needed. Please note that we have about $95,000 total – I will try to get the exact figure, but I believe we spent about $5,000 on our annual AWOS maintenance – available for this project. What we need to do now is put together a schedule and scope for this project, and if you can provide an estimate for the cost of engineering services that would be great. I expect we will also need to do some survey work. Also, we might need to meet to discuss how drainage will be handled at the west end of Taxiway Romeo … it is very flat, and right now it holds water. I have a graphic that shows two storm drains in that area – it might be possible to put in a drop inlet to help drain that area – but I have no idea how accurate that graphic may be. We will also need to put together a Form 7460 to send to Bill Gunn, along with the environmental checklist and the air quality worksheet that TX-DOT wants on these projects. NO add-ons. Remember, some of the RAMP is now used for AWOS maintenance as well. Mark Mark F. Acevedo, Director of General Services ________________________ Town of Addison P.O. We have to spend $100k in maintenance projects to get the $50k reimbursement from TX-DOT, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be this project – we can always request to amend our RAMP grant – but this area really does need to be addressed. Attached is a graphic showing the areas proposed for reconstruction. In this graphic, the west end is broken into two areas, A1 and A2; if we get really tight for money, we could possibly live without reconstructing the A2 area for another year. The orange line is about where we would have a slight swale to drain the pavement east to the grass area at the bottom of the image. The east end, area B, should probably be a higher priority that the “A2” area since it finishes connecting Taxiway Romeo to the new PlaneSmart! ramp. If you are OK with this, here are my thoughts on how to proceed: first, we get Garver to produce construction drawings and bid documents. Then we go out for bids, with area A1 being the primary and areas A2 and B bid as additive alternates, so we can be assured of staying within budget and still get the most we can out of this. Anything we don’t construct this year, we put in for RAMP grant in 2011. I want to get your blessing to proceed, since I know the entire Town is being very careful with any large expenditures, but I do think we need to start moving on this because RAMP projects have to be completed by August 31 in order to be eligible for reimbursement in the current fiscal year.
