Mark, If you are good with Garver’s fee proposal for the Taxiway Romeo RAMP grant project, can you please contact Frank McIllwain to give him the go-ahead? I believe RAMP projects are budgeted from the Airport Fund, which means you will have to ink the contract with Garver for this one. However, depending on how the bids come back and whether some of our airport operating budget funds get ‘unfrozen’ is there any reason why we could not use some operating budget money (from the 5070 pavement maintenance line item, for example) to augment what we have available from RAMP to get a little more of this work completed this year? I’m showing just over $30,000 remaining in the 5070 line item halfway through FY10, and that’s after we went through and cut out all of things a month or so back. Garver has been advised that we have about $95,000 total to work with; we all know it is not enough to do all of the areas shown on the graphic, but the idea is that we will get done what we need to have and save the rest for next year’s RAMP project(s). Probably we can get “Area B” at the far east end of the taxiway, plus “Area A1” or some approximation thereof, possibly with a drop inlet over an existing storm drain line that runs through that area. Whatever we don’t construct this year, we will still have the plans on the shelf for next year to finish it. In answer to Frank McIllwain’s question (below) as to how the contract should be drafted, I expect that it would be with the Town of Addison since RAMP Grant money comes from the Airport Fund? Are you OK with their fee proposal? I guess that would leave us with about $75k for actual construction this year, but we definitely need those pavement areas engineered. Please let me know how you would like to proceed. Joel Joel Jenkinson Director, Addison Airport main: (972) 392-4850 fax: (972) 788-9334 ________________________________ From: McIllwain, Frank O. Since this is a TxDOT Ramp grant project, we are proposing bare-bones bidding and construction support services. For example, we are only proposing a couple of site visits/meetings during construction instead of construction inspection services. The attached spreadsheet lists the tasks that correspond with the following fee schedule. Plans and Specifications $11,000 Lump Sum Bidding Services $ 5,000 Lump Sum Construction Support Services $ 5,000 Hourly Rates Total Estimated Fee $21,000 Please let me know if we should draft the contract for the Addison Airport or Town of Addison as our client.
